Evaluate screen-and-audio analysis by testing synchronized evidence retrieval on real workflow questions: what the customer said, what the agent saw and what happened next. Confirm whether a product merely records screens, lets reviewers search events, or automatically interprets on-screen activity; those are different capabilities.
Which documented products pair relevant recordings?
Level AI describes paired screen and call recording. CallMiner describes screen capture during customer interactions. These statements support reviewing the products for visual context, but they do not establish that either automatically understands every click, application state or task outcome.
What should the pilot demonstrate?
Our recommended pilot begins with a small set of workflow investigations. Include a long hold, a repeated lookup, a transfer and a case where the agent gave an accurate answer despite a slow application. Ask reviewers to reconstruct each incident using the recordings, then compare the time and uncertainty involved with their existing review process.
- Synchronization: match spoken events to the correct visible moment.
- Identity: link the recording to the right interaction, agent and session.
- Completeness: show multiple displays, remote desktops and recording gaps as relevant.
- Retrieval: find the needed segment without manually replaying the entire shift.
- Interpretation: distinguish a visible event from an automatically inferred reason.
Why do endpoint requirements matter?
A screen recorder is endpoint software, so compatibility and operating conditions belong in the buying decision. Level AI’s Screen Recorder security FAQ states that display capture follows the configured recording policy and can include visible information on one or more monitors. It describes a Windows endpoint, not the complete hosted service or every contract’s commitments.
Ask your existing IT and privacy owners to review a proposed pilot’s device support, recording boundaries, authorized viewers, sensitive-data handling and retention requirements. Use approved test data. Do not assume a transcript redaction feature also masks the corresponding screen content. Ask for a demonstration showing what a reviewer actually sees when a sensitive field is displayed.
How can findings lead to a useful decision?
Separate agent behavior from system friction. If a lookup takes many steps because the knowledge tool lacks a useful search result, the appropriate action may be a workflow repair rather than a coaching task. Retain the evidence for that interpretation and check whether it repeats across similar contacts. A recording can reveal a sequence without proving why the agent made a decision.
Quantify review effort and the number of usable cases, then decide whether screen capture adds enough context for the selected use case. Read how to route QA findings into coaching and how to balance handle time with service outcomes before claiming an operational improvement.
Which recording evidence can support a buying decision today?
| Candidate and public evidence | Useful starting requirement | Boundary to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Level AI: synchronized screen and interaction records | Review what an agent saw and did alongside the conversation | The FAQ describes manual data-entry review and future automated scoring; establish exactly which visual judgments are currently included |
| CallMiner: screen recording during interactions | Inspect agent workflow evidence within a proposed recording deployment | Demonstrate synchronization, retrieval and any claimed automatic interpretation in the contracted setup |
Level AI also lists a Screen Recording Evaluation Worker. That listing and the screen-page roadmap language leave the scope of currently available automated visual QA unclear. Ask for the specific feature, release state and supported judgments in writing rather than assuming either universal availability or universal absence.
For a concrete acceptance case, record a conversation in which an agent corrects a delivery field, saves it and then revises it again. Ask the reviewer to locate both saves and establish the final system value. A visible click establishes an observed action; a persisted field readback establishes its result. Score capture completeness, timing, searchable retrieval and judgment correctness separately. Failure on one dimension should remain visible even when playback looks clear.
